About Me

As you already know, my name is Tabatha Jenkins. I'm an alumna from the University of Arkansas at Monticello as of May 2017. I graduated Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a collateral in Communications.

I've been writing poetry and short stories for ten years now. However, I really started writing stories when I was a young girl. I loved to make little paper books and make up stories of girls my age - specifically in a Little House on the Prairie setting. I first started writing poetry when I was a freshman in high school. I had a teacher who gave us all journals and tried everything she could to get us to write. Because of her, I found a new love for poetry. It was a great way of expressing myself.

About seven years ago, I got into photography. Like writing, photography offered me another outlet to express myself. There were feelings and emotions that I could capture in a picture that I simply couldn't do with the written word.

From January to May of 2017 I was an intern staff member of the Foliate Oak Literary Magazine. The magazine is staffed by undergraduate students who enroll to take it as an internship class; I was appointed to be the Flash Fiction editor. We basically did the work of any literary magazine staff editor. .In May 2017, I published my first editorial. I have also had several fiction and poetry pieces published in various magazines. In addition to that, I am currently in the process of self-publishing my first chapbook of poetry.
