Speechless

Writer: Tabatha JenkinsTabatha Jenkins

There was a deafening silence

around us,

inside us.

It felt like the walls

had taken a deep breath

just to hold it in.

I felt the pressure

in my brain.

I had never heard you say

such things before.

I wasn't prepared

to be so speechless.

As we continued to wait,

I saw the consequences

of my silence

etched across your face.

Your eyes were closed,

your fists were clenched,

and I was still speechless.

At this point,

you were beyond answers

or confirmations of love.

You were hellbent on

revenge.
